This header is a pastel painting I did in 2009 is of a place in the Netherlands, my country of origin, after a photo shot by Dick Witte.

Some of the painters who have influenced me:
Mondriaan, Hopper
O"Keefe, Weyeth
Singer Sargent
van Gogh, Rembrandt
Picasso, Escher

Since this is my second blog page, it generally takes me longer (sometimes very long) to reply to your comments, but I do read and love them!

GONE BESIRK? NO, ABSTRACT!

© 9 x 11 Pastel on Paper, St.Germain

 NOTES
Has been long, since I did something totally abstract,
so I was careful not to chew off too much
My sketch on black art paper with pastel.
So far, so good:)

Rain of His Presence

NOTES
Rain
dripping like honey
from heaven's throne
traveling through a thousand blues
mingled with blood
so freely spilled
falling on rich brown earth
creeping into any crevice of
each atom coated
enveloping me
with eternal love

wow, the second one is amazing. It looks so tall, towering - it's the city when you're stressed and trying to get somewhere in time.

I don't really 'get' the note with it, but the artwork is great.

How big is 18 x 36? Is that cm or inches?

Borah,
I looked at your blog -I like Debbie better:)
And then I discovered after scrolling down that you are Dutch!
So am I, only I have been living for the last 20+ years in Los Angeles.

It's okay - the key is in the 2nd line - it's about the presence of God so thick in heaven that it feels and looks like rain - but not rain like water, but rain like honey, etc.
Everything here in the US is in inches, so yes, it's inches:)
Bytheway I loved perusing your blog!

I like both these abstracts but the second one is particularly dynamic. Very well done!

Thanks for the visit and for the link to here.
I like your finished pastel and all your works down the page.

Also, the fairy atmosphere in your header forest.

SORRY ALL OF YOU FOR POSTPONING MY REPLIES SO LONG!

Dutchbaby,
Thank you, Friend! It's the diagonal direction that gives the idea of "movement":)

Bavesh,
Thank you!

Knittingdragonflies,
Yes...an explosion is mostly upward, but this one is downward:)

Petunia,
this header is a painting of a forest in the North of Holland (my country of citizenship) -thanks!

Anki,
you know the adage "practice makes perfect" -I did a LOT of doodling in my teen years...

Serge Cornillet,
Thank you, Serge! And thanks for the "follow":)

Maia T,
Glad you like these styles, Maia!

I love your abstracts. Rain of his Presence is my favorite, it feels so alive.

Vicky,
Thank you - the subject asks for energy, so if you caught that, my work is done!

Randy,
Thank you Randy. My guess is that this one feels alive to you, because for me His presence is life to me!
