Since this is my second blog page, it generally takes me longer (sometimes very long) to reply to your comments, but I do read and love them!

WHITE IS THE SUM OF ALL COLORS (no first of April joke!)

Since in 2006 I was on a stint on painting flowers which  started a few weeks before Easter, it occurred to me that I had never painted flowers for Easter, while I often did buy them for that holiday. That year a lot of them were blooming by the back entrance of our office, and was very taken by their beauty.
Of all the flowers that I painted, the white ones seem to be the

 NOTES
-most challenging, because the heart of the flower is darker,
not lighter than the petals
- another challenge is the background
- since white is the sum of all colors,  reflections of colors
of surroundings are seen in the white
- careful that  flower does not look like a "cut-out"
- white is a symbol of resurrection
- a hope so pure, nothing can surpass it

If you click on "Mysteries" in the right side bar, it takes you to my main blog, where you read the poem for these flowers and see a few other white flowers.

Am away for Easter weekend, so I scheduled this post, and am looking forward to your comments when I get back. Have a great Easter all of you, my friends!

This is gorgeous. I love the contrasts. I read your notes and they add a great deal of depth to the work.

I know we are new to one another but if you become comfortable with me, would be be okay if I captured your paintings from time to time to post to my blogs as long as I acknowledge you and link back to your blog?

I have another blogger with whom I do this. We've never met but she's comfortable with it. She is Laura Trevey. The other artists I showcase are personal friends. My husband is a photographer and I use his work alot too.

California,
As long as you give me the credit (which you do, I saw:) ),I have no problems with it. My older paintings are on www.stgermainart.com - I haven't updated it, because it cost too much right now,

Oh, before I forget, the page with prices at the end is pre-recession, so they have changed
AND meanwhile we bought a big printer, so any painting can be printed smaller or bigger than original size up too 44 inch wide (poster size) on smooth/matte or gloss, or canvas.
I also like to get watercolor paper for the printer.
