This header is a pastel painting I did in 2009 is of a place in the Netherlands, my country of origin, after a photo shot by Dick Witte.

Some of the painters who have influenced me:
Mondriaan, Hopper
O"Keefe, Weyeth
Singer Sargent
van Gogh, Rembrandt
Picasso, Escher

Since this is my second blog page, it generally takes me longer (sometimes very long) to reply to your comments, but I do read and love them!

BRIDAL VEIL FALLS WATERCOLOR

NOTES
- One of my early watercolors, signified by the sharp edges of Bridal Veil Falls at Yosemite. This scene was this year totally immersed in water!

Thought it would be fun to do my pic of my painting for Midweek Blues, hosted by Rebecca
for Watery Wednesday at http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/, hosted by 2sweetnsaxy,
for Skywatch at http://skyley.blogspot.com/ on Friday, and for

Weekend Reflections at http://newtowndailyphoto.blogspot.com/hosted by James.
I thank all these hosts!

Gorgeous. Is this the Bridal Veil in Oregon?

Cieldequimper,
Thank you! Yosemite National Park is in California (5 hours by car from where I live, so that's the same time as from Paris to Amsterdam:) ).

Thanks for commenting on my entry. Wow, your painting is so lovely. Since I have no talent of painting, I would stick to press release button of my cameras.
Have a wonderful day.

Southern Sass,
Thank you! You have the welcoming gift with your blog -every time I leave I have a smile on my face:)

EGWow,
Thank you, bloggie friend, I can return the compliment -your images as amazing!

Carletta,
That was exactly the atmosphere at the scene -I'm excited yo caught it! Forgot to say on your blog: congrats with your youngest grand baby!

Cookingwith gas,
We go there every year for me to paint and for hubby to hike -it never gets tiring!

Y.Ikeda,
Thank you! This style is a typical western style of watercolor. But I know the Japanese and Chinese style is no less difficult!

How beautiful! I love the way you captured the movement of the water. That couldn't have been easy to do!

Naturefootstep,
I was impressed by your text when I put the translation on! May I ask if that has to do with your job/profession?

Just came from your blog and saw how much you love art!
You are off for Christmas break, I guess? Actually don't know how Christmas is celebrated by most French people:)

Rebecca,
Thank you! Blue is in most of my paintings and already as a little girl my favorite color was blue. In Holland there is not the the color divide -blue for boys and pink for girls...

Woody,
Thank you! I had to work much harder to make watercolor look good than oil! (this view is common among artists).

Rajesh,
Thank you, friend! Is watercolor more common in India, or oil painting?

J Bar,
You're welcome:) You must then spend many hours behind the computer:)

Betsy,
Thank you, dear Friend! I'll take it that you probably will be performing in the Christmas season?

Lovely piece. The air feels cold, the water would be too. I'd love to dangle my feet over a rock into the running water... I'd love to be there.
